Guilds and ranked
Update 2 added both, and the game title was renamed to advertise them at the time. Ranked removes your ability to choose the map or your side, which changes what a good army even looks like.
Ranked rules
- The map is drawn at random from the current pool, so there is no single map to prepare for.
- You play a single round, and you are assigned attack or defence at random when you enter, so the loadout has to work both ways.
- Everyone starts at the bottom rank, which one creator reports as Warrior 1, so early matches pair you with a wide spread of skill.
A ranked loadout that works
This is the loadout one creator ran in ranked, presented as a template rather than a law. It maps cleanly onto the four jobs our army builder solver looks for.
- Slot 1
Shield / anchor
Both sides need something that can hold the front, and the attacker also needs a body to absorb the first volley.
- Spartan
- Spear Vanguard
- Shieldman
- Imperial Wall
- Slot 2
Anti-archer
A random map guarantees you will meet ranged units, so you need something that can reach them.
- Lancer
- Scout Rider
- Mortar
- Samurai
- Slot 3
Fire Archer
This creator says that without a Flaming Archer you are effectively out of the match, while also advising no more than two.
- Fire Archer
- Slot 4
Flex
Fill this slot with whatever suits your play: Immortal for fast pushes, Samurai for breaking a line, or another tank to hold.
- Immortal
- Berserker
- Samurai
- Halberdier
- another tank
Your first ranked session
Expect the first few matches to be messy, because everyone starts at the bottom of the ladder at once. Use them to answer two questions rather than to climb. First: when you get handed the defender role, does your army actually hold a point, or does it melt the moment the enemy commits? Second: when you get the attacker role on a map with no cover, can you reach their ranged units at all? The slot you end up changing after those two matches is almost always the right one to change, and it is rarely the slot you expected.
Why ranked changes your army
In casual play you know which side you are on before you choose. Ranked removes that: the map is drawn from the pool and your side is assigned on entry, so a loadout tuned for defending a chokepoint can be handed an open field and an attacker role. The consequence is that single purpose units lose value and generalists gain it, which is the opposite of what most casual lobbies teach you.
The other difference is length. Ranked is a single round rather than a series, so a slow, scaling army never gets the time it needs. Do not bring a composition that only wins once everything is upgraded: bring something that works from the first contact, accept that one of your four slots is a compromise, and spend the star budget on covering jobs rather than on upgrading one favourite.
Guilds
- Guilds and ranked arrived in the same update, which is why the two pages here cross-reference each other: ranked changes how you queue, guilds change who you queue with.
- The official Pro pass explicitly provides guild benefits: more guild capacity, a custom guild badge and 20 additional guild ranks.
- Creating a guild costs 15,000 Gems, shown on the creation screen in a creator recording (MimoBlox, 2026-09-19). No official source states the fee, so it is labelled single source rather than presented as a published price.
Single source, flagged: One creator showed a guild of 827 members that ranked first at the time it was shown (Noctis Imperialis). That is a creator report, not an official leaderboard, and it should not be read as ranking fact.
One source mentions nine ranked tiers, but no public source lists the tier names or the thresholds attached to them, so this site does not publish a rank table.
Ranked FAQ
- How does a ranked match work?
- It is a single round on a randomly picked map, and you are assigned attacker or defender on entry. Since you cannot choose either, the winning habit is bringing an army that works in both roles.
- What is the best ranked loadout?
- An anchor such as Spartan or Spear Vanguard, an anti-archer pick such as Lancer, a Fire Archer, and a flex slot you fill to match your own style.
- Where do I start on the ladder?
- At the bottom, reported as Warrior 1, with everyone else starting there too - so early matches are noisy. The developer has not published the tier names or thresholds (checked 2026-09-21), so this page reports the one confirmed detail - the starting tier at Warrior 1 - and the in-game ladder shows the rest as you climb.
- What do guilds actually give me?
- A shared roster and identity. The official Pro pass lists increased guild capacity, custom guild emblems and 20 extra guild roles, which is the only guild benefit with an official description.
Watch it in action
Every video below passed two checks before it went on this page: it resolves through YouTube’s own oEmbed endpoint, so the title and channel shown are the real ones, and it ships English captions, which is where the points beside it were read from. Nothing here is described from a thumbnail or a guess.
Roblox Command an Army’s NEW UPDATE is SICK! (Guilds + Ranked + New Unit)
MimoBlox · uploaded 2026-09-19 · 10:36
- Puts a price on guilds that no text source states: creating a guild is shown costing 15,000 Gems, paid at creation.
- Walks the guild admin screen and shows custom roles being created for members, which lines up with the official Pro pass description of extra guild ranks and a custom badge.
- Confirms the ranked queue is 6v6 and adds that the new Rapier unit reads as a flanking pick aimed at enemy ranged units rather than a frontline replacement.

The Best RANKED Units in Command An Army (Tested Tier List)
Tuki · uploaded 2026-09-24 · 14:03
- Bases the ranking on real ranked-match testing rather than theorycrafting, focused on units that help you rank up fast.
- Creator verdict (interpretation): rates the Archer C tier by default but argues a Fire Archer becomes a strong ranked pick because 6-player matches reward area control.
- Creator framing (interpretation): ranked is built around six-player team fights, so AoE and support units swing matches more than raw damage.

BEST TEAM LOADOUT FOR RANKED COMMAND AN ARMY ROBLOX
AccelToWin · uploaded 2026-09-20 · 3:04
- Ranked is a single random round on a random map where you are randomly assigned attacker or defender, so the creator recommends a versatile loadout instead of a one-trick team.
- His ranked template: a unit that handles archers (cavalry or mortar), a shield unit (Spartan, spearman, shield bearer or imperial warrior), a fire archer as the third slot (called the current popular strategy), and a flexible fourth slot for your playstyle.
- Warns against stacking fire archers (two is the practical maximum) and notes a recent ranked quirk where the ladder pools everyone near the lowest rank, so early games face mixed-level opponents (creator observation).
